Tent School in Burkina Faso

ABC Children's Aid in Burkina Faso has been asked to help set up a Tent School on the border between Mali and Burkina Faso. There are around 50 000 refugees there currently (summer 2012) who are fleeing from the conflict in Northern Mali. Among them are 11 000 children. ABC Children's Aid are helping various local organisations to set up schools in tents for these children. We would like to say a big thank you to Gala Tent, Rotherham in the UK for its generous help in donating an excellent marquee plus a sizeable amount of other useful canvas and other equipment to be used in these refugee camp schools. Their web-site address is http://www.galatent.co.uk

Visit the ABC School in Burkina Faso

In November 2012, John Beynon is planning to take a group out from England to visit the work of ABC Children's Aid in Bobo Diolasso, Burkina Faso.

The group will have opportunity to see first hand the situation that many African families are living in. They will spend time working in the school, helping to develop a farm run by local parents to help provide the school with food and also with other projects in the community. They will spend time getting to know local people, visit some local places of interest and experience some of local cultural events.
